About Company

Fartskriver has been part of Norway’s transport industry since the 1950s. The company originally specialised in installing tachographs, the systems that document driving activity in heavy transport. Today the business provides many more services, including technical service, workshops, safety courses, and advisory work for transport companies. The company has around 50 employees and operates across Norway, with projects as far north as Svalbard in the high arctic.

“Our goal is to be a competence centre for the road-based transport industry in Norway, with a focus on knowledge, quality and service”, says Marking Coordinator, Siri Enoksen.

When Siri Enoksen joined Fartskriver, the company had just lost their previous platform and didn’t have a replacement yet. “When I started, we didn’t really have an intranet”, recalls Siri Enoksen. Workplace had been phased out, and no one had fully taken ownership of finding a replacement. Internally, communication was spread across different channels, documents and ad-hoc solutions. There was also another challenge: not everyone knew what an intranet system was.

“I asked people simple questions like: ‘Do you know what an intranet is?’ About 50% didn’t.”

This all meant that the new solution would have to be extremely intuitive, easy to explain, and easy to adopt across age groups.

Requirements for a new Solution

Siri Enoksen looked at 10–15 potential providers. What mattered most wasn’t brand recognition but usability and speed of support. “We have employees across very different age groups. I needed something I knew everyone could use.” Ziik’s familiar, social-style interface mattered. “I thought, what’s something most people have used in their life? If it feels familiar, people will use it.” But one thing stood out even before the product itself: The response speed of the Ziik team. “I registered for a trial, and I think I got contacted within half an hour. That’s rare!”.

From idea to rollout in 8 working days
From first contact to company-wide login took just over a week of actual working days. That included setting up a demo, structure design and setting permissions, all in time for a company-wide launch at a rare all-hands event. The process was intense, collaborative and rewarding. “Without the cooperation we had from Ziik, it would never have gone this fast”.

Immediate adoption across the company
The launch happened live during an all-hands meeting, including real-time onboarding. Employees downloaded the app, logged in, and started using it during the session. Today, Ziik is used daily across teams, with 82% of users accessing the intranet from their mobile.

One place for core company knowledge
Although the Employee Handbook was accessible it had no proper home.“We’d spent five years trying to find somewhere to publish the employee handbook”, says Siri Enoksen. “Two or three weeks after launch, the handbook was live and always updated”.

More than communication
What surprised Siri most wasn’t just how fast the rollout happened, but how naturally it became part of everyday work. “It’s not just news. It’s where we actually work together, share ideas, give praise, and help each other”. For a company that previously had no clear internal platform, that shift felt significant. “The biggest thing is probably that we went from having nothing to having something that actually works for everyone”.
